Job summary

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree with 3 years of relevant experience.
  • EMT Certification or equivalent.
  • NNS Apprentice School graduate, NNPS graduate, or high school with related military/manufacturing experience.

The Role

Implements and monitors industrial safety programs to ensure personnel and facility safety. Participates in monitoring and controlling the organization's safety standards in accordance with OSHA and State codes and regulations. Evaluates new equipment and materials for safety. Monitors employee exposure to chemicals and other toxic substances. Performs surveys and inspections to ensure compliance with the organization's policies, procedures, regulations and standards related to employee safety. Tests and services safety equipment and systems. Reports non-compliance or hazardous conditions found and suggests remedial action to be taken. May maintain storage areas, consumable supply inventories, and personnel protection equipment. Responds to emergency situations involving hazardous materials, radiation, or fire and smoke incidents in the facility.

Must Have

Associate's Degree and 3 years of relevant experience. EMT Certification. One of the following may be used as equivalent to Associate's Degree to meet minimum qualifications:

  • NNS Apprentice School graduate
  • Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
  • High School/GED and 2 years of related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience
  • High School/GED and 4 years of non-related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience
