Medical Technician (QMT) Responsibilities

• Administer medication
• Obtain vital signs
• Assist in sick call following medical protocols
• Communicate with Medical Providers
• Respond to medical emergencies, perform life-saving measures, and provide leadership in emergencies
• Collect laboratory specimens as needed
• Adhere to the “Rules of 100” and provide patient care accordingly
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records

Location

Wabash County Jail

Shift Schedule

2 PM to 10 PM during the week and 8 AM to 8 PM every other weekend. 36 hours one week, 28 hours the next.

Requirements

• Active CPR certification
• Minimum of 6 months medical experience
• EMT, QMA, or CMA certification preferred
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Capability to push, pull, reach, bend frequently
• Lifting capacity of up to 50 pounds
