Job summary

Catholic Health is seeking a dedicated Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to respond to emergency calls, assess scenes, provide essential care, and transport patients to medical facilities. This on-site role requires active NY EMT-B or EMT-CC certification, BLS by the American Heart Association, and the ability to lift heavy loads while following established protocols.

The position emphasizes teamwork, adherence to procedures, and communication with dispatchers and medical control.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• NY EMT-B or EMT-CC active certification required.
• BLS Certification from the American Heart Association required.
• NIMS IC S-100 and IS-700 coursework required.
• Must lift/carry up to 150 lbs unassisted and 300 lbs with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Responds to calls when dispatched.
• Reads maps and may drive ambulance to emergency site.
• Observes traffic laws and regulations.
• Assesses patient condition and provides emergency care.
• Transports patient to medical facility with ongoing care.
• Reports observations to receiving facility and medical control physician.
