Position Location

Empress - Rockland, NY

This position is based out of the Empress (formerly Rockland Mobile Care).

Summary

Providing emergency and non-emergency patient transport, collaborating with supervisors, fire, police, medical staff, patients, and families to deliver high-quality care and customer service. Responsibilities include performing or assisting with various patient care activities in pre-hospital and hospital settings, providing supportive and definitive care, and ensuring patient safety during inter-facility transport.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide quality patient care using ACLS, PEEP, or PALS protocols.
  • Assess and treat medical or trauma situations with appropriate techniques.
  • Evaluate and implement patient care within established protocols.
  • Accurately document all patient care and EMS responses.
  • Complete all required Empress and NYS paperwork.
  • Maintain equipment, vehicles, supplies, and logs.
  • Operate vehicles and equipment per company policy.
  • Promote safety and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Report to work on time; overtime may be required.
  • Work various shifts; flexibility is required.
  • Follow all policies and procedures.
  • Attend continuing education, updates, and staff meetings.
  • Adhere to dress code and equipment standards.
  • Participate in public education and community outreach programs.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Current NY State EMT-P Certification and AHA CPR, PALS, ACLS certifications.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
  • Complete pre-employment screening including drug test, background check, and physical agility test (CPAT).
  • Minimum age 18 years.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • National Registry Paramedic Certification.
  • Westchester REMAC Certification.
  • Hudson Valley REMAC Certification.
  • NYC REMAC Certification (if applicable).
Work Environment

Work involves outdoor and indoor environments, exposure to hazards, blood/body fluids, fumes, and temperature changes. It requires shift work, mobile environment operation, and confined spaces.

Physical Requirements

Must frequently use hands, reach, talk, hear, stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift/carry up to 150 pounds unassisted (up to 300 pounds with assistance). Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.
