Job Description

Position Title:
  • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or

Position Summary:

Perform duties associated with Inter Facility Transport (IFT), BLS, ALS, and Critical Care to the sick and injured in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and EMS Unlimited policies in ambulance and transport operations.

Compensation:
  • $13.00 per hour to $39.00 per hour

Overtime is paid as required by law according to the job/shift being performed (Sunday through Saturday).

Schedule:
  • PRN (Casual): 12, 24, 72-hour shifts

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responding to emergency and non-emergency requests calmly, efficiently, and promptly;
  • Administering basic/advanced life support to patients at the scene and during transport, in accordance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and standards;
  • Assessing injury or illness to establish and prioritize medical procedures;
  • Completing patient care forms, insurance forms, evaluation forms, and other documentation in a timely manner;
  • Conducting medical equipment inventory and restocking supplies after use;
  • Performing DOT vehicle inspections;
  • Working cooperatively with assisting agencies, maintaining professionalism, courtesy, and a positive attitude;
  • Reporting concerns regarding patient privacy policies and observed violations without retaliation.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED required;
  • Current state healthcare license at the appropriate level;
  • 2 years of field EMS experience preferred.
Certificates, Licenses & Age:
  • Must be at least 21 years old;
  • Minimum of two years of licensed driving experience;
  • Valid and clean driver’s license;
  • Current EMT/Paramedic certification and CPR;
  • FEMA ICS 100 & 700 training required prior to hire;
  • Additional certifications such as PHTLS, ATLS, PALS, EPC, AMLS, Hazmat, Wilderness, CCT/FPC are preferred.
