Job summary

Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital is seeking an EMT to provide safe transfer of patients to local facilities, discharges and inter-facility transport. The role is a pool position with one shift per week, based at Winnie Palmer Hospital in Orlando, FL.

Candidates must have 1 year of ambulance driving or Fire Department experience, plus a Florida EMT or Paramedic license, BLS, EVOC, and a DOT EMT program completion. Valid FL driver's license (21+) required.

Qualifications

• One year of ambulance driving experience or Fire Department experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of EMT program from DOT-approved program; paramedic program may be a graduate.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients safely to local facilities and other care locations.
• Assist with patient discharge and handoffs.
• Maintain equipment and vehicle readiness.

Qualifications

Experience

One (1) year of ambulance driving experience and/or Fire Department experience.

Education/Training

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Successful completion of Emergency Medical Technician program from approved/accredited Department of Transportation (DOT) program. May also be a graduate of an additional paramedic program.

Licensure/Certification

• Current Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) license or Paramedic (PMD) license in the State of Florida renewed every two (2) years.
• Maintain current Basic life support certification (BLS).
• Emergency Vehicle Operator's Certificate (EVOC) certification.
• Valid Florida driver?s license with no more than six (6) points, at least 21 years of age, and must be insurable under the Orlando Health Insurance carrier's requirements and standards.
