Job summary

Phelps Health is seeking an EMT to provide basic life support, patient assessment, airway management, and assistance with medications. The role includes driving an ambulance safely under protocols, and supporting Paramedics with patient care where required.

Required are a Missouri EMT license, BLS and PHTLS certifications, a high school diploma, and graduation from an approved Missouri EMT program. A Class E license must be maintained, with E-driver’s license within six months of hire.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent required.
• Graduate of approved Missouri State EMT program required.

Responsibilities

• Assess and reassess patient’s condition and provide rescue interventions under Medical Director protocols.
• Delegate patient care tasks to First Responders within scope and evaluate performance.
• Operate an ambulance safely and in accordance with policy.
• Communicate reports to receiving nurse and coordinate with EMS teams.
• Maintain infection control procedures and safe patient handling.
