Paradise Valley Community College is seeking an Emergency Medical Tech (Residential Faculty) to instruct students across EMT education, including paramedicine and EMS, with oversight of labs and field internships.

The role requires extensive teaching experience, advanced EMS credentials, and collaboration with agencies to ensure high-quality educational experiences. A Masters or higher is preferred, with flexibility for various teaching environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of occupational experience in EMT or related field.
• Master's degree or higher in EMS/healthcare/education or related field.
• Experience teaching EMT or pre-hospital education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Instructs students across EMT coursework in classroom, lab, clinical, and field settings; supervises labs and rotations.
• Develops curricula, syllabi, and assessments aligned with accreditation standards.
• Maintains regular office hours and advises students on academic and professional development.
• Establishes relationships with industry partners to enhance workforce readiness and pathways for students.
• Engages in ongoing professional development and college- and district-level activities.

Skills

Five years of occupational experience

Experience in teaching or supervising

Ability to work rotating days/nights

Education

Master's degree or higher in emergency medical services/healthcare/education

Bachelor's degree or higher in related field (teaching/EMT)

One year MCCCD experience in previous two years

Tools

Learning Management software (Canvas/Blackboard)

Instructor certifications (AHA/NAEMT CPR/BLS, ACLS, PALS)
