Job summary

Bergen County Technical Schools is seeking an EMT Instructor Aide for the EMS Training Center. This 12-month, non-certificated, part-time position focuses on assisting in instruction and field-related activities within the EMS program.

Qualified applicants must hold a current NJ EMT-Basic certification and be prepared for a flexible schedule to support day, evening, and weekend classes. New Jersey residency is required within one year of hire.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must possess current, valid NJ EMT-Basic certification and other current, valid licenses, certifications and/or accredited program completions necessary to provide effective, creditable instruction in the specific areas assigned by the Director of EMS.
• Knowledgeable in course content, as evidenced by education and/or experience, able to assist in the direction and evaluation of student learning and practical application of skill stations, and knowledgeable about educational theory and techniques.
• Be a riding member of a New Jersey pre-hospital care agency for three (3) consecutive years prior to applying for this position.
• Become certified as a NJ EMT Instructor within two (2) years of original appointment by the Board of Education.
• Excellent communication and organization skills.
• Available to work a flexible schedule to accommodate day, evening and/or weekend classes.
• Such other qualifications as may be acceptable to the Board and allowed by law.
• New Jersey residency required within one (1) year from date of hire.
