Job summary

Superior Ambulance Service in Highland, IN is hiring EMTs/Paramedics across multiple locations (Highland, Merrillville, Portage) to deliver high-quality emergency medical transport and patient care. You will respond to calls, assess patients, provide treatment within EMS scope, document care, and ensure vehicle readiness.

Qualifications

• Active EMT or Paramedic certification or license (NREMT or state).
• Ability to provide medical care at EMT or Paramedic level while transporting patients.
• Pass pre-employment interview with physical and lifting exam and drug screening.
• Attend company-provided training and driving course.

Responsibilities

• Provide appropriate patient care as stipulated in training as an EMT.
• Provide safe transportation, including accurate interpretation of street names and addresses to reach destinations quickly.
• Appropriately assess a patient and convey the condition to other medical professionals.
• Provide an accurate written report describing patient condition, medical history, and treatment.
• Provide accurate documentation for billing information.
• Maintain the vehicle in sanitary condition and monitor all fluid levels and gauges.

Responsibilities

• Provide appropriate patient care as stipulated in their training as an EMT.
• Provide safe transportation, to include accurately discerning street names through map reading, the ability to correctly distinguish house numbers, and addresses of business locations, in the most expedient manner, are essential.
• Appropriately assess a patient and accurately convey the condition to other medical professionals.
• Provide an accurate written report describing a patient's condition, medical history, and the treatment provided.
• Provide appropriate documentation for billing information.
• Maintain the vehicle in sanitary condition, in addition to monitoring all fluid levels and gauges.

Qualifications

• NREMT (National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians) or current state license (or pending).
• Ability to provide - medical care, at the EMT or Paramedic level, while safely transporting patients.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• Pass a pre-employment interview including a physical and lifting examination and a drug screening.
• Attend company provided training and driving course.
