Job summary

Superior Ambulance Service is hiring EMTs and Paramedics to provide high-quality patient care during transport across multiple Wisconsin locations. The role requires accurate documentation, map-reading, and effective communication with medical staff.

Qualifications

• EMT National Registry or current state license (or pending).
• Provide EMT/Paramedic level medical care during patient transport.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and safe driving record for varied conditions.
• Pass a pre-employment interview including a physical, lifting test and drug screening.
• Attend company training and driving course.

Responsibilities

• Provide appropriate patient care per EMT training.
• Provide safe transport and accurate address/navigation assessment.
• Assess patient and communicate condition to medical staff.
• Document patient condition, history, and treatment provided.
• Prepare billing documentation as required.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and monitor fluids/gauges.

History of the Company

Superior Ambulance Service started in 1959 with one ambulance and today is the largest independent, locally owned, and operated emergency medical services provider in the Midwest. Superior employs more than 4,000 licensed EMT, Paramedics and Nurses, operating a fleet of more than 800 ambulances throughout Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Superior also provides Critical Care, helicopter, and fixed wing emergency medical transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provide appropriate patient care as stipulated in their training as an EMT.
• Provide safe transportation, to include accurately discerning street names through map reading, the ability to correctly distinguish house numbers, and addresses of business locations, in the most expedient manner, are essential.
• Appropriately assess a patient and accurately convey the condition to other medical professionals.
• Provide an accurate written report describing a patient's condition, medical history, and the treatment provided.
• Provide appropriate documentation for billing information.
• Maintain the vehicle in sanitary condition, in addition to monitoring all fluid levels and gauges.

Qualifications

• EMT National Registry and/or current state license (or pending).
• Ability to provide - medical care, at the EMT or Paramedic level, while safely transporting patients.
• Possess a valid driver's license, satisfactory driving record and must be able to safely operate a vehicle in various conditions, including daytime, nighttime and inclement weather.
• Pass a pre-employment interview including a physical and lifting examination and a drug screening.
• Attend company provided training and driving course.
