Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician to respond to both emergency and non-emergency calls at Platte Valley Hospital in Brighton, Colorado.

You will assess patient needs, provide basic life support, stabilize patients, and transport them to appropriate facilities, while coordinating with emergency services and families.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of EMT Basic Course.
• Must obtain EMT license in state of operation within 120 days of hire.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers.
• Current valid driver license in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Respond quickly and efficiently to emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Assess patients to determine nature and extent of injuries or illness.
• Provide basic life support, CPR and related care.
• Stabilize patients at scene and during transport to facilities.
• Operate and drive emergency vehicles safely.
• Communicate with other emergency services and family or staff.
• Maintain and stock equipment, document care provided, and monitor patient condition.
• Participate in ongoing training to stay current with protocols.

Job Description:The Emergency Medical Technician demonstrates critical thinking capabilities in working autonomously and in collaboration with other health care providers in the delivery of care to critically ill patients in diverse and non-traditional settings.Essential FunctionsQuickly and efficiently responds to emergency and non-emergency calls.Assesses patients' conditions to determine the nature and extent of their injuries or illnesses.Provides basic life support and administers first aid, CPR, and other basic life support measures.Stabilizes patients at the scene of an emergency and during transport to medical facilities.Safely transports patients to hospitals or other medical facilities.Operates emergency vehicles.
