Qualifications

• Must be certified by the State of Arizona as an Emergency Medical Technician.
• Must have valid CPR certification.
• Possess good written and verbal communication skills.
• Good knowledge of Medical terms.
• Must be able to physically climb stairs (up to six floors), perform CPR, lift up to 150 pounds and apply first aid.

Responsibilities

• Know the medical policies and procedures.
• Respond to emergencies involving Residents, visitors or staff; evaluate and treat medical conditions appropriately; call 911 or relatives when appropriate.
• Identify Residents who require further assistance and participate in follow-up meetings.
• Conduct assurance checks on Residents who have not responded to assurance buttons.
• Advise Residents on medical/health issues.
• Assist Residents with scheduling physician appointments and arrange transportation when necessary.
• Take blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration readings when requested.
• Maintain an accurate triage log and incident reports.
• Monitor oxygen supplies and restock as needed.
• Communicate with hospital/nurse on condition of residents.
