Job summary

CoxHealth is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to assist Paramedics in delivering rapid and effective care in both emergency and non-emergency settings. You will perform CPR, AED use, ventilation support, hemorrhage control, and document all care under EMS direction.

Responsibilities include operating an ambulance safely, stabilizing patients, and supporting the care team across shifts. A High School Diploma or equivalent is required, with Missouri EMT licensure preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Previous EMT experience preferred.
• Current Missouri EMT License required; MO Class E license if Missouri resident.

Responsibilities

• Assist Paramedics with basic medical support including CPR, AED, ventilation and hemorrhage control to stabilize patient condition.
• Document all aspects of care provided under EMS supervision.
• Operate the ambulance in varied road conditions to safely transport patients to medical facilities.

Job Description

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) assists Paramedics with providing efficient and immediate care to patients in various emergency and non-emergency situations. Responsible for providing basic medical support including CPR, AED, ventilation, controlling hemorrhaging, etc. to stabilize the patient’s condition. The EMT is responsible for documenting all aspects of care provided under their direction by EMS services. Operates the ambulance in various road conditions to safely transport patients to medical facilities.

Education

• Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent

Experience

• Preferred: Previous EMT experience

Skills

• Calmly and efficiently perform and make appropriate decisions rapidly under stress in emergency situations.
• Ability to work outdoors.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Is familiar with age specific needs for the patient population served.
• Must be 18 years of age

Licensure/Certification/Registration

• Current Missouri EMT License required
• Missouri Resident: MO Class E license is required.
• MO Non-Resident: Chauffeur’s license or Class E equivalent for that state, required upon hire.
