Job summary

Shasta Regional Medical Center in Northern California is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician to join our award-winning team. You will perform basic assessment and management of medical, trauma, and environmental emergencies under the supervision of the ED staff.

This Per Diem position requires a High School diploma or equivalent, EMT training, and current BLS; ACLS and PALS certifications are preferred. You’ll contribute to a safe environment and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience.
• Basic EMT Training or ER experience.
• Current BLS certificate and maintain current.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Current PALS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Certified/Licensed EMT by the state certifying agency/entity required.

Responsibilities

• Emergency Medical Technician is responsible for the assessment and basic management of medical, trauma and environmental emergencies under the supervision of the ED staff nurse and/or physician.
• Assists with patient care based on individual patient needs within the scope of practice; Assists in maintenance of a safe environment and performs under the direction and supervision of the ED Registered Nurse or Charge Nurse.

• 1. High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires effective April 2014.
• 2. Basic EMT Training or E.R. experience required.
• 3. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.

Facility Specific Requirements (facility may require items listed below):

• 1. Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• 2. Current PALS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• 3. Certified/Licensed EMT by the state certifying agency/entity required.

Pay Transparency

Shasta Regional Medical Center offers competitive compensation and the current compensation range for this role is $31.39. Benefits may vary based on collective bargaining agreement requirements and/or the employment status. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
