Position Overview:

The primary objective of EMS is to provide safe and compassionate ambulance and medical transportation, preserving patients' dignity and ensuring community safety.

Responsibilities include non-emergency patient transfers, community event medical standby, and emergency response to assist critically ill or injured patients.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Attend orientation, EMS operations, compliance, vehicle operation, and maintain certifications.
  2. Provide out-of-hospital care and safe transport following protocols and medical command.
  3. Lift and carry patients and equipment safely.
  4. Communicate effectively with team members, patients, and other agencies.
  5. Document patient information accurately.
  6. Inspect and maintain EMS equipment and vehicles.
  7. Respond to emergency calls and assist other personnel.
  8. Maintain a professional appearance and perform station and vehicle upkeep.
  9. Participate in event standby operations and respond to hazardous incidents.
  10. Understand stress management and patient privacy regulations.
  11. Collaborate with outside agencies professionally.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of EMS operations and equipment.
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly.
  • Physical ability to perform job duties, including lifting.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Pass background checks and drug screenings.
  • Current EMT certification and CPR certification.
  • Proof of immunizations (TB, Hepatitis).

EMS work is 24/7 in all weather conditions, requiring readiness to respond at any time. Safety, professionalism, and compassion are essential traits.

Special Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Complete required training and certifications.
