Superior Ambulance Service, Inc. in Illinois is hiring EMTs and Paramedics to join a large, locally owned EMS provider with a long history since 1959.

Openings across multiple locations including Elgin, Chicago area and others; you will provide safe patient transport, medical care, documentation, and participate in ongoing training. Competitive hourly pay $20–$25 with benefits and opportunities for overtime.

Qualifications

• EMT or Paramedic license (NREMT or state) is required or pending.
• Ability to provide medical care at EMT or Paramedic level while safely transporting patients.
• Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record; able to operate a vehicle in various conditions.
• Pre-employment interview with physical and lifting exam, drug screen, and background check.
• Attend company-provided training and driving course.

Responsibilities

• Provide appropriate patient care as per EMT training.
• Safely transport patients and accurately identify addresses.
• Assess patients and communicate condition to medical professionals.
• Provide accurate written reports of patient condition, history, and treatment.
• Document billing information.
• Maintain vehicle sanitary and monitor fluid levels and gauges.

Openings in multiple locations: Elmhurst, Oak Lawn, Markham, Chicago (Illinois Medical District & Chicago North), Des Plaines, Green Oaks, Schaumburg, Aurora, Elgin, Cary, Joliet, Evanston, Rockford, Grayslake

History of the Company: Superior Ambulance Service started in 1959 with one ambulance and today is the largest independent, locally owned, and operated emergency medical services provider in the Midwest.

Superior employs more than 4,000 licensed EMTs, Paramedics and Nurses, operating a fleet of more than 800 ambulances throughout Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin.

Superior also provides Critical Care, helicopter, and fixed wing emergency medical transportation.

EMTs and Paramedics provide safe transportation and quality medical care to sick and injured individuals within the scope of state EMS regulations.

Superior provides the highest quality care in emergencies and scheduled medical transports.

Responsibilities

• Provide appropriate patient care as stipulated in their training as an EMT.
• Provide safe transportation, to include accurately discerning street names through map reading, the ability to correctly distinguish house numbers, and addresses of business locations, in the most expedient manner, are essential.
• Appropriately assess a patient and accurately convey the condition to other medical professionals.
• Provide an accurate written report describing a patient's condition, medical history, and the treatment provided.
• Provide appropriate documentation for billing information.
• Maintain the vehicle in sanitary condition, in addition to monitoring all fluid levels and gauges.

Qualifications

• NREMT (National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians) or current state license (or pending).
• Ability to provide - medical care, at the EMT or Paramedic level, while safely transporting patients.
• Possess a valid driver's license, satisfactory driving record and must be able to safely operate a vehicle in various conditions, including daytime, nighttime and inclement weather.
• Pass a pre-employment interview including a physical and lifting examination, drug screen, and background check.
• Attend company provided training and driving course.

Additional earnings via bi-weekly bonus up to $4.00/HR.

Salary Range
