• Maintain current and valid credentials, licenses, and certifications appropriate to their position.
• Provide patient care within their authorized scope of practice.
• Safely assess, monitor, treat, and transport patients as appropriate to their level of certification.
• Follow applicable clinical protocols, medical direction, and company policies.
• Complete accurate and timely patient care documentation.
• Safely operate or assist with the operation of company vehicles when assigned.
• Maintain infection-control and patient-safety practices.
• Communicate professionally with patients, family members, healthcare facilities, dispatchers, and other personnel.
• Protect patient confidentiality and handle patient information appropriately.
• Report changes in inpatient condition, safety concerns, equipment problems, and incidents promptly.
• Complete required vehicle, equipment, and supply checks.
• Maintain required continuing education and training.
• Perform only duties consistent with current credentials, training, and authorization.
• Paramedics may perform advanced patient-care duties only when appropriately licensed, credentialed, and authorized to do so.
