Job summary

American Medical Response is hiring an EMT BASIC in Canon City, CO. The role covers full-time 12-hour shifts, often nights, weekends, and holidays, with starting pay at $17.00 per hour and credit for experience.

EMTs respond to emergency and non‑emergency requests, delivering high‑quality care and customer service. Responsibilities include patient assessment, documenting information, maintaining a safe environment, and coordinating with allied health and public safety personnel.

Qualifications

• CPR/BLS certifications required per job posting.
• Valid drivers license in good standing is required.
• Must successfully complete the Physical Ability Test (PAT).
• Colorado EMT certification is required for this position.
• NREMT certification is preferred by AMR.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and determine needed care, delivering emergency medical services.
• Document patient information and care, maintaining confidentiality.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and stocked environment for patients.
• Use EMT skills and equipment to provide care and support.
• Operate an ambulance in accordance with safety policies and traffic laws.
• Collaborate with other health and public safety personnel.
