Job summary

Team Mobile Health Care in Chattanooga, TN is seeking Emergency Medical Technicians to respond to medical and traumatic emergencies and provide basic life support during transport between facilities. You will perform life saving procedures, document patient information, and collaborate with ALS personnel and other staff to ensure high-quality patient care.

A valid TN EMT certification, CPR/BLS, and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Certified EMT by the State of Tennessee Department of Public Health Office of Emergency Medical Services.
  • Certified in CPR – Basic Life Support by the American Heart Association or the American Safety and Health Institute.
  • Current, active Motor Vehicle Operator’s license.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision, using good judgment.
  • Lift and maneuver 150 pounds with assistance.
  • Walk up and down stairs and lift/carry 150 pounds with assistance.

Description

EMTs respond to medical and traumatic emergencies and provide basic life support procedures and transportation to the most appropriate facility. They also provide basic life support services to interfacility transfer patients as required. EMTs carry themselves professionally and assist other company departments where needed.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Respond to selected medical and traumatic emergencies and to select hospitals, clinics, and nursing homes to provide inter‑facility transfers.
  • Provide emergency medical care at the scene, en route, and during transportation from facility to facility, adhering to company, local, regional, and state guidelines.
  • Perform basic (or intermediate) life support procedures based on certification level.
  • Perform other duties related to emergency and non‑emergency medical care and development of the emergency medical system and/or Patriot Ambulance.
Specific and Additional Tasks / Duties
  • Present professionalism and leadership at all times, placing patient care excellence above all else.
  • Ensure knowledge and compliance with TMHC Team Mobile Health Care’s procedures.
  • Continuously improve operations, reduce turnaround times, streamline workflows, and provide quality customer care.
  • Maintain vehicle and equipment readiness at the beginning of each shift and after every call.
  • Respond to emergencies and non‑emergencies with safe operation, following Tennessee law, EMS regulations, company policy, and safety principles.
  • Adhere to Universal Precautions and infection control policies.
  • When appropriate, direct and supervise other team members in emergency and non‑emergency situations.
  • Render medical care per TMHC, State of Tennessee, DPH/OEMS, and Regional Office of OEMS regulations and protocols, delivering patients to the nearest appropriate facility.
  • Work professionally with ALS personnel at their skill level and maintain good relations with outside staff and services.
  • Act in the best interests of high‑quality patient care and reflect credibly on TMHC and the profession.
  • Ensure personal and others’ safety at all times.
  • Provide high‑quality patient care during transportation and deliver a comprehensive report to receiving staff.
  • Complete all appropriate documentation and record‑keeping for each patient contact.
  • Assist with public relations and community education programs sponsored by TMHC.
  • Attend required continuing education courses, maintain certifications (CPR, EMT card, etc.) and file paperwork with DPH/OEMS for recertification.
  • Provide TMHC with current copies of EMT certification, CPR card, and driver’s license, and complete all company, state, and federal training.
  • Report to assigned shifts in proper uniform and on time, remaining on duty until relieved.
  • Accommodate and train third riders or interns as needed, completing required documentation.
  • Consult supervisors on non‑routine matters.
  • Perform day‑to‑day assignments such as cleaning, laundry, and trash removal.
  • Complete any other tasks or duties as assigned.
Location, Reporting Structure and Hours
  • Position may be full‑time, part‑time, or per diem.
  • Location: Chattanooga, TN area.
  • Reports to the daily supervisor.
  • Competitive night/weekend pay.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
