Opportunity

As an EMT-B, you will play a crucial role in delivering high‑quality patient care, assisting healthcare providers, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. This role offers a unique opportunity for EMTs to expand their clinical skills by working closely with providers and clinical staff in a fast‑paced urgent care setting.

Your Impact
  • Patient Interaction: Engage with patients in a welcoming, professional manner; address inquiries and provide assistance and information regarding medical conditions, treatment plans, and medications.
    • Explain prescribed medications, dosage instructions, and potential adverse reactions.
    • Offer guidance on lifestyle modifications, preventive health measures, and follow‑up care.
    • Ensure patients understand their health status and treatment options.
  • Clinical Responsibilities: Support clinical operations and patient care.
    • Conduct preliminary evaluations to triage patients and determine urgency.
    • Perform basic clinical procedures such as taking vital signs, obtaining medical histories, and assisting with minor procedures.
    • Document patient information accurately in electronic health records (EHRs) in compliance with privacy regulations.
  • Collaboration with Clinical Team: Work closely with other team members to ensure seamless coordination of patient care.
    • Communicate effectively with providers and other healthcare professionals to relay patient information and updates.
    • Assist with discharge planning and support new clinic team members.
    • Welcome and support the training of new team members.
Required Availability
  • Work 12‑hour shifts on consecutive and/or non‑consecutive days.
    • Full‑time: 3 shifts per week with at least 4 on a weekend per month.
    • Part‑time: 2 shifts per week with at least 2 on a weekend per month.
    • Per diem: 4 shifts per month, ideally 1 each week.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work at a minimum of three other ConvenientMD locations within a one‑hour travel distance from your primary clinic.
  • Required to travel for training shifts that may occur outside your primary clinic within a one‑hour commute.
Who You Are
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required.
  • Certification or demonstrated prior experience: Nationally certified and licensed EMT with at least one year as an EMT.
  • BLS certification: American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification. CPR, ACLS, or online‑only classes are not accepted.
  • Compassionate, authentic, and patient‑focused: Support patients through kindness, demonstrating understanding and contributing to a community of belonging.
  • Proactive and confident communicator: Foreshadow and elevate concerns as they arise; confident in professional directness with colleagues and patients.
  • Trustworthy: Maintain confidentiality and handle patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Effective communicator and cross‑collaborator: Establish and maintain positive relationships with patients, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Excellent team player: Enjoy collaboration and be part of a strong team dynamic.
  • Technically savvy: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software; experience with Experity or other business systems is beneficial.
Bonus Qualifications
  • 1–2 years of patient triage experience in an urgent care clinic or emergency department preferred.
Pay Transparency

Hourly Pay Range: $17.14 – $26.99 USD. Final compensation is determined at the conclusion of the interview process.
