Responsibilities
  • Provide emergency and non-emergency medical care to team members and guests in accordance with established protocols.
  • Triage patients when multiple calls or patients overwhelm available personnel; make appropriate determinations about dispositions and transports.
  • Perform drug and alcohol screens on team members in accordance with park policies.
  • Accurately and legibly complete required documentation.
  • Complete checks on bags, vehicles, and treatment areas before, during, and after each shift; restock supplies as necessary.
  • Answer calls for emergency assistance via telephone and radio.
  • Maintain a clean work area; perform basic cleaning of First Aid facilities (mop floors, vacuum carpets, empty trash cans, wipe down counters and beds).
  • Complete safety ride audits and safety inspections at the direction of the Safety Manager.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with guests and team members.
  • Attend all required training including Park Discovery and Department training sessions.
  • Adhere to all park labor policies pertaining to breaks taken, length of shift, and types of work performed.

  • Maintain proper grooming and uniform guidelines at all times.
  • Follow and enforce all park policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner at all times.
  • Must have strong teamwork skills and the ability to work well with others.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with guests, other team members, and leadership.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects while paying close attention to details.
  • Use efficient time management to complete required tasks and projects.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and reaching.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 80 lbs; ability to push and pull up to 150 lbs.
  • Occasional running, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, and crawling.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions, including extreme cold and heat, as well as high levels of humidity and rain, occasionally for extended periods.
  • Ability to work occasionally in confined spaces and from high elevations.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must hold a current Illinois Department of Public Health (I.D.P.H) Emergency Medical Technician – Basic License; Wisconsin License or National Registry License must meet reciprocity requirements with I.D.P.H.
  • Must hold a current American Heart Association BLS for the Healthcare Provider CPR/AED certification.
  • Must possess a current and valid Driver’s License.
  • Must meet Region 1 system entry requirements through OSF St. Anthony Medical Center.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use all BLS equipment used in the park (pulse oximeter, glucometer, stair chair, etc).
  • Ability to handle moderate levels of stress related to high workload.
  • Safety awareness and general housekeeping.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changes in working environment.
  • Available to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be professional, self-motivated, and have an enthusiastic attitude.
  • Must have strong teamwork skills and the ability to work with others.
  • Must possess a strong work ethic and the ability to multitask.
