Job summary

LIFEwest Ambulance is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to respond to emergency and non-emergency requests, delivering patient-centered care with professionalism and integrity. The role requires current California EMT certification, CPR/BLS, and a valid California driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Current California State EMT certification (through county/LEMSA).
• Valid CPR/BLS Provider certification (American Heart Association).
• Current California Driver’s License and Ambulance Driver Certificate.
• Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DL51) and clean H-6 DMV record within 30 days of application.
• Must maintain all required certifications and licenses throughout employment.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Provide high-quality patient care within EMT scope.
• Safely assess, treat, monitor, and transport patients.
• Operate ambulance equipment and vehicles safely.
• Maintain readiness of equipment, supplies, and vehicles.
• Complete accurate patient care documentation and comply with policies.
• Act as a professional representative of LIFEwest Ambulance.
• Participate in quality improvement and ongoing education.
