Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking an Emergency Medical Tech - Basic to provide rapid, quality care and transport for critically ill or injured patients in a fast-paced EMS environment.

You will perform patient assessments, deliver essential treatments, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and timely transport. Required education is a high school diploma or GED; EMT-B certification and TX Driver's License are expected, with training ongoing as needed.

Qualifications

• Education: high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience: less than 1 year in emergency medical services.
• Certifications: BLS and EMT-B; TX Driver's License with 90‑day transfer requirement.

Responsibilities

• Provides critical care and transport to critically ill or injured patients in a fast-paced setting.
• Performs rapid patient assessments and initiates TDHS-compliant treatment plans.
• Evaluates status and updates plans promptly as needed.
• Responds quickly to assistance requests for patient hygiene.
• Documents care accurately; minimal reports returned for completion.
• Maintains ambulance readiness and daily housekeeping of crew areas.
• Ensures supplies are stocked and notifies when unavailable.
