Novant Health in Charlotte, NC is seeking an EMT/Ambulance Operator to transport CCT staff and patients between facilities on a full-time basis. Shifts are two 12-hour days (7a–7p) with no on-call requirement, and you will help maintain CCT vehicles and supply levels.

Required: NC EMT certification, completion of EVOC or equivalent, at least two years of emergency-vehicle driving experience, and be 21 or older with a clean driving record. Preference for knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of two years of experience driving emergency vehicles in emergency traffic.
• Current NC EMT Certification required. Completion of Emergency Vehicle Operations Class or Equivalent required.
• Must be at least 21 years of age and North Carolina DMV driving record must meet corporate insurance requirements.
• Knowledge of vehicle maintenance preferred.

What We Offer

The EMT/Ambulance Operator is responsible for providing safe and timely transport of the CCT staff and family of patients being transported between facilities. They will provide basic maintenance to the CCT vehicles and maintain state required supply levels. They may assist the registered nurse/paramedic with patient care as outlined by the North Carolina Office of Emergency Medical Services.

What We're Looking For

• Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
• Experience: Minimum of two years of experience driving emergency vehicles in emergency traffic, required.
• Licensure/Certification: Current NC EMT Certification, required. Completion of Emergency Vehicle Operations Class or Equivalent, required.
• Additional Skills (required): Operating knowledge of emergency vehicles equivalent to the Novant Health Critical Care Transport ambulances. Operating knowledge and skill in radio communications. Ability to access, read and interpret maps. Must have exhibited a high degree of reliability, dependability and competency in previous work performance. Must be at least 21 years of age. North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicle driving record must meet requirements as set forth by corporate insurance.
• Additional Skills (preferred): Knowledge of vehicle maintenance.
