In this position, you’ll work various shifts with our Ambulance team providing exceptional care to those who entrust INTEGRIS Health with their healthcare needs. The Emergency Medical Technician manages assessment, treatment, and transport of patients in the ambulance, triage area, and/or the Emergency Department and hospital. The EMT will utilize knowledge and skills up to their current licensure level as licensed by the State of Oklahoma and approved by the Medical Director of IBRHC EMS. Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as appropriate based on patient contact level. INTEGRIS Health is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.

Responsibilities
  1. Respond promptly to requests for non-emergency and emergency calls as directed by the dispatcher in a timely and safe manner.
  2. Provide patient care up to current licensure level according to guidelines set by the Oklahoma State Department of Health, EMS Division, and department protocols.
  3. Consult with Medical Control as dictated by policy/procedure and protocols for guidance in patient care and scene control.
  4. Operate the ambulance safely and efficiently, maximizing safety and comfort.
  5. Maintain good working relationships with colleagues, community emergency services, hospital staff, physicians, and other health professionals.
  6. Attend continuing education and EMS refresher courses as required by the State of Oklahoma to ensure license renewal.

Physical demands may include exposure to infectious diseases, body fluids, odorous specimens, various weather and traffic conditions, chemicals, radiation hazards, and mechanical/electrical equipment. All applicants will be considered regardless of protected status, including veteran or disability status.

Qualifications
  • Must be at least 21 years old, absent insurer approval.
  • Must pass an MVR check.
  • Oklahoma EMT Intermediate or Advanced license.
  • National Registry EMT Intermediate or Advanced license.
  • Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support preferred.
  • CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
  • Hazmat Awareness, Emergency Vehicle Drivers Training, NIMS (100, 200, 700), and Traffic Incident Management System certifications within 12 months of hire.
  • Effective communication skills in English (verbal/written).
  • Must operate an INTEGRIS-owned or personal vehicle with a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
