American Medical Response - Buffalo is offering an EMT Academy that pays a training wage while you learn. The eleven-week program prepares you to take the NYS EMT-B exam, with all books, tuition, fees and uniforms covered.

Upon certification you will transfer to a full EMT position with AMR-Buffalo at a higher pay rate. The program begins mid-October 2026 and the application deadline is August 31, 2026. Eligibility requires 18+, HS diploma or GED, a valid driver's license and immunizations.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Have proof of a HS diploma or GED.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Have all required immunizations.
• Successfully complete pre-employment screening including motor vehicle and criminal background checks, drug testing and agility test.

Responsibilities

• Earn while you learn in the EMT Academy.
• Complete the eleven-week program and pass the NYS EMT-B exam.
• Transfer to an EMT position with AMR-Buffalo with increased pay after certification.
