Job summary

American Medical Response - Buffalo is offering a unique opportunity for individuals interested in a rewarding career in pre-hospital medicine. The EMT Academy is an eleven week program that qualifies the employee to take the NYS EMT exam, with books, tuition, fees and uniforms paid by AMR Buffalo.

Hired employees will train at AMR-Buffalo and receive a training wage, then transition to an EMT position with increased compensation once certified. The program begins mid-October 2026.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Have proof of a HS diploma or GED.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Have all required immunizations.
• Successfully complete the pre-employment screening which includes motor vehicle and criminal background checks, drug testing and a physical agility test.

Responsibilities

• Description of EMT duties provided through the EMT Academy program.
• Successful completion leads to NYS EMT-B certification and assignment as EMT with AMR Buffalo.
