Novant Health is seeking an Event Medicine Emergency Medical Technician to provide basic life support to patients of all ages at special events and work closely with Registered Nurses and Paramedics. The role requires strong patient communication, teamwork, and adherence to department policies.
Applicants must have a High School Diploma or GED, three years of EMT experience, current NC-EMT certification, driver’s license, and Basic Cardiac Life Support.
The Event Medicine Emergency Medical Technician must have the ability to provide basic life support to patients from neonate throughout the geriatric years in the pre-hospital setting at special events. Must function as a patient care provider in conjunction with a Registered Nurse and a Paramedic in accordance with approved departmental policies, procedures and protocols.
Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
Experience: Three years experience as an EMT, required. Must at time of hire maintain affiliation with an Emergency Medical Services pre hospital provider that has EMT's as part of their staff. The EMT must be in good standing without restrictions, required.
Licensure / Certifications: Valid drivers license, required. Current NC-EMT certification, required.
Additional Skills/Requirements (required):
Basic Cardiac Life Support certification is required. Must have ability to interpret information to identify each patient’s requirements for care relative to his/her age, as well as health and developmental needs. Must be able to communicate clearly, both verbally and in written documentation. Excellent customer service skills are required.
