Job summary

Novant Health is seeking an Event Medicine Emergency Medical Technician to provide basic life support to patients of all ages at special events and work closely with Registered Nurses and Paramedics. The role requires strong patient communication, teamwork, and adherence to department policies.

Applicants must have a High School Diploma or GED, three years of EMT experience, current NC-EMT certification, driver’s license, and Basic Cardiac Life Support.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Three years experience as an EMT with active affiliation to an EMS prehospital provider, in good standing.
• Valid NC-EMT certification and driver's license required.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required; ability to interpret patient care needs by age and condition; strong written and verbal communication; excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic life support for patients from neonate to geriatric at events in collaboration with RN and Paramedic according to departmental policies.
• Act as patient care provider within the care team and document care accurately.

What We Offer

The Event Medicine Emergency Medical Technician must have the ability to provide basic life support to patients from neonate throughout the geriatric years in the pre-hospital setting at special events. Must function as a patient care provider in conjunction with a Registered Nurse and a Paramedic in accordance with approved departmental policies, procedures and protocols.

What We're Looking For

Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.

Experience: Three years experience as an EMT, required. Must at time of hire maintain affiliation with an Emergency Medical Services pre hospital provider that has EMT's as part of their staff. The EMT must be in good standing without restrictions, required.

Licensure / Certifications: Valid drivers license, required. Current NC-EMT certification, required.

Additional Skills/Requirements (required):

Basic Cardiac Life Support certification is required. Must have ability to interpret information to identify each patient’s requirements for care relative to his/her age, as well as health and developmental needs. Must be able to communicate clearly, both verbally and in written documentation. Excellent customer service skills are required.
