Job summary

Mission Regional Medical Center in Mission, Texas is seeking a Per Diem Emergency Medical Technician to join an award-winning team dedicated to quality care and community service. You will perform basic assessment and management of medical, trauma and environmental emergencies under supervision, assist in patient care, and support the ED team led by RNs and physicians.

Per diem shifts vary to meet patient needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent or related experience required for new hires.
• Basic EMT training or ER experience required.
• Current BLS certificate required.
• ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• PALS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• Certified/Licensed EMT by the state certifying agency required.

Responsibilities

• Assess and manage medical, trauma and environmental emergencies under supervision.
• Assist with patient care and maintain a safe environment.
• Work under the direction of the ED Registered Nurse or Charge Nurse.

Responsibilities

Emergency Medical Technician is responsible for the assessment and basic management of medical, trauma and environmental emergencies under the supervision of the staff nurse and / or physician. Assists with patient care based on individual patient needs within the scope of practice; assists in maintenance of a safe environment and performs under the direction and supervision of the ED Registered Nurse or Charge Nurse.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires effective April 2014.
• Basic EMT Training or E.R. experience required.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.

Facility Specific Requirements

• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Current PALS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Certified/Licensed EMT by the state certifying agency/entity required.
