Job Overview
The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) will provide Basic Life Support (BLS) services to patients.

Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age
- High School Graduate or GED
- Current Driver's License and satisfy vehicle insurance requirements
- New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, or National Registry EMT Certification
- American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider (CPR)
- Hazmat Awareness Certification
- Must possess IC 100, 200, and NIMS 700, 800
- Must have completed Weapons of Mass Destruction or CBRNE Awareness training
- PHTLS/ITLS - preferred
- Associate Degree - preferred
Essential Functions
- Conduct self in a professional, dignified, and compassionate manner at all times
- Communicate clearly and effectively in English via written and verbal means
- Notify Supervisor of any deficiencies regarding maintenance, equipment, or supplies
- Notify Supervisor immediately of any unusual circumstances
- Provide treatment in accordance with established patient care protocols
- Operate department vehicles in accordance with all applicable NJ Motor Vehicle Laws and MH driving policies
- Complete department specific continuing programs as required by the State of New Jersey Department of Health, Office of Emergency Medical Services
- Complete all patient care documentation per MH Documentation Procedure
- Interact professionally with partners, patients, management, colleagues from other EMS agencies, public safety personnel, and other healthcare providers and members of the public
- Perform routine duties to keep them safe and facilitate patient care, including vehicle inspection forms, maintenance requests, compliance with hospital Employee Health requirements (TB testing, N95 fit testing), hospital-required processes (annual employee self-evaluations, engagement surveys)
- Perform other duties as required or requested by MH management necessary to the function of the organization
Scheduling Requirements
- Per Diem – Must provide 10 shifts of availability and work 6 shifts over 3 months. Must work 1 summer and 1 winter holiday and 2 weekend shifts. Minimum shifts within region hired. Employees may choose day or night shift and station/unit within region.
- Part Time – Assigned two scheduled shifts per week, total 4 shifts over 2 weeks, with at least 2 of 4 on weekends. Must work 24 hours per week.
- Full Time – Assigned 3 shifts a week with weekend requirements, rotating pitman schedule. Must work 36 hours per week.
