Job summary

Prehospital Care Research Forum at UCLA in Los Angeles, CA seeks an EMS Program Director – EMT to lead the paramedic education program and coordinate clinical experiences, curriculum development, and accreditation activities.

Qualifications

• Instructor certifications: ACLS/BLS from AHA.
• Instructor certification for PHTLS from NAEMT/ACS.
• MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint proficiency.
• Experience coordinating large scale education programs.
• Willingness to drive between hospitals and off-campus locations; evenings/weekends; on-call.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Current licensure as a Paramedic, Registered Nurse, Physician Assistant or Physician in the State of California or be eligible for licensure in California.
• A Bachelors Degree in health services, education or a related field and/or equivalent experience/training.
• A minimum of three years clinical experience.
• A minimum of three years experience as an educator, with a minimum of two in primary paramedic program instruction.
• A minimum of three years experience designing medical educational curriculums and programs.
• Previous experience with distributed learning or distance learning using systems such as Adobe, Connect or Canva.
• Experience delivering fire based EMS educational programs.
• Proficiency in student evaluations of cognitive, psychomotor and affective domain, including item construction, exam performance metrics, evaluation tool development, implementation and improvement.
• Detailed working knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations and agencies governing medical education programs.
• Participation in COAEMSP accreditation.
• Previous experience directing education programs, hiring, coaching, motivating, and supervising staff, and obtaining program accreditations.
• Certification as an Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Cardiac Life Support Instructor, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support from the American Heart Association.
• Certification as a Prehospital Trauma Life Support Instructor from the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians and the American College of Surgeons.
• Computer knowledge and skill in MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
• Previous experience developing and coordinating large scale and high profile education programs.
• Available to use personal vehicle to drive between hospitals and to off campus locations for meetings.
• Available to work evenings, holidays, and/or weekends, and on call for after hours for emergencies.

PREFERRED

• Masters degree in health services, education, or a related field.
