Job summary

Jefferson College seeks an experienced EMS Paramedic faculty member to teach and mentor students in a 12‑month, full‑time role. The position requires a DoT EMS instructor training credential or willingness to obtain it, and a minimum of five years in EMS with an Associate’s degree.

The candidate will develop course syllabi, select textbooks, maintain records, and supervise labs and clinicals while supporting institutional committees and student success initiatives.

Qualifications

• Five years of related industry experience and an Associate’s degree.
• DoT approved 40 hour EMS instructor training or agreement to obtain upon hire.
• Instructional experience: ACLS/PALS/BLS/PHTLS/ITLS instructor, or lab/guest instructor, or 20 hours CEU in instructor topics in last 5 years.
• Knowledge of current EMS practices and teaching methods.

Responsibilities

• Teach EMS/paramedic courses assigned by the Dean or Program Director.
• Develop syllabi and gather required textbooks and readings.
• Maintain accurate attendance and grade records and participate in faculty meetings.
• Provide appropriate office hours and advising to students.
