Job summary

EMS Fleet Services is seeking a Fleet Services Technician-Class III to perform advanced diagnostics, repair and preventive maintenance on EMS vehicles including ambulances, vans, cushmans, buses and specialty equipment. Under general supervision you will diagnose transmissions, fuel, brake, electrical, AC, suspension and steering systems, and supervise lower-grade technicians as needed.

Applicants must have at least 4 years of full-time auto/light truck mechanic experience, hold a US EPA

Qualifications

At least 4 years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience as an auto/light truck mechanic.
EPA Refrigerant Technician Certificate for R-12 & 132A systems and Mass Class D Driver's License.
Must conform to Fleet Services tool requirements and RMV driving record.
Knowledge of automotive diagnostics, preventive maintenance, electrical systems, EMS fleet maintenance operations.
Willingness to work indoors/outdoors and on varying schedules; able to supervise lower-grade technicians.

Responsibilities

Perform advanced inspection, diagnosis, modification, repair and preventive maintenance on EMS vehicles including ambulances and specialty equipment.
Diagnose and repair transmissions, fuel, air conditioning, brakes, electrical, suspension and steering systems.
Perform safety-related equipment diagnostics and repairs (ABS, airbags, electronic warning systems).
Repair/rebuild chassis components and engines; operate department vehicles and maintain workspace.
May supervise Fleet Technicians of a lower grade as needed and assist EMS Fleet Management.
