Job summary

St. Mary’s County Government is seeking an experienced financial operations professional to support EMS fiscal functions and general county accounting.

You will handle accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing for multiple schedules, budgeting support, and financial reporting for county, state, and federal agencies. Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent required.
• 3+ years related experience preferred.
• Equivalent technical training or education acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Perform accounts receivable for rents, loans, and mortgages.
• Monitor bills, statements, vouchers, receipts, and reports.
• Prepare transcripts and various financial forms/charts.
• Review journals and subsidy accounts; monitor bank receipts and receivables.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and fund availability analyses.
• Process cash receipts and disbursements; reconcile accounts.
• Generate monthly/quarterly/year-end financial reports for agencies.
• Support grant proposals, modifications, renewals, and special requests.
• Maintain separate accounting systems for fiscal operations.
• Prepare trial balances, general ledgers, and double-entry records.
