Job summary

Mercyhealth seeks an EMS Instructor to educate and train emergency care providers under supervision. You will lead course development across EMT, AEMT, Paramedic and related programs, using state and national guidelines, while ensuring high-quality instruction and student outcomes.

The role requires postsecondary education in Emergency Care and at least two years of Wisconsin EMS experience, with BLS and AHA Instructor certifications pursued within set timelines.

Qualifications

• Degree or certificate in Emergency Care (EMT, AEMT, Paramedic, RN, PA, DO or MD)
• RN, BSN preferred or enrolled in BSN program
• Two years of experience providing Emergency Care in Wisconsin licensed level

Responsibilities

• Lead EMT, AEMT, Paramedic and/or AHA course development per guidelines ( Wisconsin DFS and HFS 110 or national agencies)
• Provide quality instruction across cognitive, psychomotor and affective learning domains
• Apply Adult Learning principles to the classroom
• Set clear goals and monitor progress per state/agency criteria
• Mentor and supervise novice instructors
• Instruct in at least one AHA class (BLS, ACLS, PALS)
• Document and submit accurate class records
• Teach at varied times/places based on student demand
• Deliver exceptional customer service with Mercyhealth
