FSCA is currently hiring an EMS Technician Level II. This is a mid-level Technician responsible for performing certified DOT inspections, preventative maintenance inspections, light and follow-up repairs, light mechanical/hydraulic/electrical and electronic diagnostics, and other duties as assigned. May also perform scheduled work on various customer fleets and provide emergency roadside service. Requires creative problem-solving in emergency situations, self-management, effective decision-making, excellent customer service, attention to detail, and situational awareness. Must be flexible with scheduling and able to operate effectively in emergencies. This role follows established procedures for repairs and maintenance, safety practices, and documentation. The EMS Technician II strives for excellence and quality in their work.

Duties

  • Perform minor adjustments and repairs on various truck equipment including electrical, brake, cooling systems, starters, alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, power steering, engines, transmissions, clutches, differentials, etc.
  • Participate in safety training and stay updated on safety protocols to ensure a culture of safety and compliance.
  • Document work according to company standards, upload pictures of work, parts used, and findings on Repair Orders using company devices and the PRONTO application.
  • Communicate with management, team members, and dispatch via Microsoft Office, email, or phone for approvals, purchase orders, and notes.
  • Perform work in compliance with safety, health, environmental policies, and federal regulations including OSHA, EPA, and DOT.
  • Obtain parts from approved vendors as needed for repairs.
  • Complete DOT forms and other documentation timely.
  • Manage parts inventory and equipment on the company-issued service truck, performing periodic reconciliation.
  • Understand and evaluate technical information related to the job.
  • Manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work independently.
  • Work with clients to assess needs, provide assistance, and resolve issues.
  • Adhere to company policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment including electrical, brake, cooling systems, and more.
  • Consult with customers, dispatch, and sales to understand vehicle problems and discuss work.
  • Inspect, test, and listen to equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Possess and supply necessary hand tools.
  • Must pass a DOT-regulated background check and physical prior to employment.
  • Current DOT medical card with more than 4 months remaining, or ability to obtain one.
  • At least 21 years old due to interstate commerce regulations.
  • Valid driver’s license, with a 3-year MVR review required.
