Job summary

Research Medical Center is seeking an EMS Coordinator RN to provide a courteous, consistent care experience for patients transported by EMS. This role liaises with EMS personnel and CNC to ensure timely offloads and coordinated arrivals at the stroke care area.

The EMS Nurse Coordinator will oversee the EMS lounge, support clinical staff, and collaborate with leadership to advance EMS initiatives and governance goals. An RN with appropriate certifications is required.

Qualifications

• ACLS and BLS certifications must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• (RN) Registered Nurse and RN Diploma are required.
• PALS or ENPC certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• TNCC or ATCN must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Greet and receive patients and EMS personnel in a dedicated area and ensure smooth handoffs.
• Collaborate with the CNC to plan for inbound arrivals and manage EMS surges for timely offloads.
• Oversee the EMS lounge and stroke care area; assist clinical personnel in patient care.
• Perform downtime duties and communicate with the EMS PPR Director on strategic initiatives.
• Provide feedback to the EMS Growth Governance Council to improve EMS operations.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The EMS Nurse Coordinator is responsible for providing a consistent, courteous, and timely care experience for patients transported by EMS to our facility. The responsibilities include greeting and recepting both the patient and EMS personnel in a dedicated area. The EMS Nurse Coordinator collaborates with the clinical nurse coordinator (CNC) to adequately plan for the arrival of inbound patients and manage through any EMS surges to achieve timely offloads. When not actively offloading EMS patients, the EMS Nurse Coordinator is also responsible for overseeing the EMS lounge, maintaining the stroke care area, assisting clinical personnel in the care of patients, and other downtime duties. The EMS Nurse Coordinator will collaborate and communicate regularly with the EMS PPR Director on strategic initiatives and provide ideas/feedback to the EMS Growth Governance Council.

Qualifications

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• (RN) Registered Nurse
• Registered Nurse Diploma
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Cour, or PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
