Job summary

Research Medical Center seeks an EMS Nurse Coordinator RN to facilitate rapid EMS patient offloads and seamless arrivals. You will work with the CNC to anticipate inbound patients, manage EMS surges, and ensure smooth care transitions in the EMS lounge and stroke care area.

You will also support clinical staff during downtime, and regularly share insights with the EMS PPR Director to drive strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in good standing
• ACLS, BLS, and crisis intervention certifications must be obtained within 30 days of start date
• ENPC or PALS certification within 30 days
• TNCC or related trauma course within 30 days

Responsibilities

• Greet and admit patients and EMS personnel in a dedicated area
• Coordinate with CNC to plan inbound arrivals and manage EMS surges
• Oversee EMS lounge and stroke care area; assist clinical staff as needed
• Communicate with EMS PPR Director on strategic initiatives and Growth Governance Council

Job Summary and Qualifications

The EMS Nurse Coordinator is responsible for providing a consistent, courteous, and timely care experience for patients transported by EMS to our facility. The responsibilities include greeting and recepting both the patient and EMS personnel in a dedicated area. The EMS Nurse Coordinator collaborates with the clinical nurse coordinator (CNC) to adequately plan for the arrival of inbound patients and manage through any EMS surges to achieve timely offloads. When not actively offloading EMS patients, the EMS Nurse Coordinator is also responsible for overseeing the EMS lounge, maintaining the stroke care area, assisting clinical personnel in the care of patients, and other downtime duties. The EMS Nurse Coordinator will collaborate and communicate regularly with the EMS PPR Director on strategic initiatives and provide ideas/feedback to the EMS Growth Governance Council.

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• (RN) Registered Nurse
• Registered Nurse Diploma
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Cour, or PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Advanced Trauma Care for Nurse, or Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
