This role involves working under the EMS Operations officer to ensure efficient and safe transportation of patients. The mission of Correctional Managed Care is to address the healthcare needs of underserved patient populations within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) and the Texas Juvenile Justice Department (TJJD).
JOB SUMMARY:
Coordinates the most efficient transportation mode for each patient. Work is performed under the direction of the EMS Operations officer, with latitude for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative within the limits of established policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
EQUIPMENT:
Standard patient care supplies, equipment and mechanical devices.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Located within the confines of a prison, jail or juvenile detention center. Security clearance is required; pre-employment drug testing is also required.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
High school or GED equivalent. Current certification as an Emergency Medical Technician -Basic by the Texas Department of Health.
Salary is commensurate with years of relevant work experience.
