Pafford Emergency Medical Services is seeking a trained EMT to provide fast and efficient Basic Life Support for the ill and injured. The role involves directing first responders and coordinating patient care under physician orders, with commitment to high-quality patient service.
Incumbents must obtain and maintain EMT certification within 12 months of hire. Must carry a valid driver’s license and operate emergency vehicles as required by assignments.
Must successfully obtain and maintain state/national EMT Certification within 12 months of hire date as a condition of continued employment.
The supervisor makes assignments in terms of shifts to be worked and the general scope of the work assignment. The incumbent performs the work in accordance with the procedures, policies and medical orders provided. The incumbent must exercise judgment in applying the proper guideline to the proper situation. The work is spot checked and evaluated on the basis of feedback from the patient, medical staff and others.
Good knowledge of the street systems, addresses and physical layout of the area, and of the rescue equipment and the eme rgency medical equipment used in Basic Life Support.

Additionally, incumb en ts must maintain a high degree of academic and practical knowledge in emergency medicine, and must attend s ufficient continuing education classes, courses, and seminars both on and off duty to maintain annual certification, as required by the state in whi ch you will be working.
The work requires theincumbenttooperate emergency medical vehicles,move medicalequipmentandextractinjured personsfrom a wide variety of situations. Situation caninvolvevehicular,industrialand residential accidents,injuriesorillnessand occur anywhereinour coverage area. At timesthework requires movement over various types ofterrain, (hilly,steep,rocky, rough, and/or wet/slippery surfaces).Theincumbentat all times must be abletocarry orhelpcarry someone fromthesite oftheinjury tothe modeof transportation(vehicle/helicopter)and attendtheinjuredparty to the hospital.In orderto performaphysicalassessment ofthe injured party, the incumbentmust see,hear,and communicate with the injuredparty.
Incumbents will be issued and must wear Company issued uniforms while on duty; add i tionally, incumbents will be responsible for the maintenance and cleaning of uniforms, as well as all issued equipment.
Incumbents are required to carry a Company issued pager/radio at all times in order to receive immediate notification of an assignment.
