Job summary

Samaritas is seeking a compassionate Parent Partner in Oakland County to support families involved in child welfare. You will mentor and advocate for parents, drawing on your lived experience to empower families and strengthen connections. This is a community-focused, flexible role with meaningful daily impact.

The position requires a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to meet families where they are, with collaboration across MiFamily Together and other partners.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Personal experience with a CPS or foster care case.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build trusting relationships with families via phone, virtual, and in-person meetings.
• Support families through case plan activities and services.
• Be a liaison with MiFamily Together advocates and child welfare workers.
• Help parents navigate the child welfare process.
• Facilitate monthly caregiver support groups and provide transportation support when needed.
