Samaritas seeks a compassionate Parent Partner in Michigan to support families involved with child welfare services. You will provide advocacy, guidance, and hope, drawing on your lived experience to empower others and strengthen family connections.

Qualifications

• Personal CPS or foster care case experience with a successful closure.
• Ability to work independently and with a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to complete Building a Brighter Future training.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Build trusting relationships with families by phone, virtual, and in person.
• Encourage participation in case plan activities and services.
• Collaborate with MiFamily Together advocates and child welfare workers.
• Help parents navigate the child welfare process and understand resources.
• Empower families to identify strengths and goals and connect to community supports.
• Facilitate monthly support groups for caregivers and provide transportation support when needed.
