Job summary

Devereux is seeking a Direct Care Professional to join our Goleta, CA team. You will work with a dedicated group of professionals to support adults with behavioral health needs, helping with daily living, safety, and skill-building.

Shift options include 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, 11pm-7am with one weekend per week; starting pay is $19.25 per hour. A Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, education or related field or 12 years of Human Service experience is preferred; Driver’s license required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, social work, education or related field or 12 years of relevant Human Service experience.
• Previous experience working with individuals under 21 with psychological, emotional and behavioral disorders, PTSD, co-occurring disorders, or autism spectrum disorders preferred.
• Driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Actively assist individuals with their individualized plans for daily living and ensure safety, health, and cleanliness.
• Assist with planning, implementation, and documentation of programs for social, emotional, physical, and personal needs.
• Plan and participate in community outings, and schedule/transport individuals to doctor’s appointments, shopping trips, and day programs.
• Be a mentor to other staff and provide feedback for required trainings.
• Must be willing to work with individuals who may exhibit challenging and/or aggressive behaviors (paid training upon hire).
• Must have comfort with hygiene care (bathing, showering, toileting, etc.)
