Job summary

Jenks Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Teacher to fulfill responsibilities under the supervision of the Principal. The role requires Oklahoma teaching certification or eligibility and an endorsed teaching area within Oklahoma.

Duties include planning, delivering, and assessing instruction while maintaining IEP records and collaborating with staff. The position runs nine months per year, with compensation and benefits established through the Board's agreement with the Jenks Classroom

Qualifications

• Oklahoma teaching certificate or eligibility.
• Endorsement in teaching area for Oklahoma.
• Satisfy district health and citizenship requirements.
• Alternatives to the above qualifications may be accepted by the Board.

Responsibilities

• Plan instructional strategies aligned with Oklahoma Academic Standards and data-based needs.
• Differentiate instruction with flexible groupings and accommodations.
• Prepare materials and adapt to diverse learning needs.
• Collaborate with team and participate in meetings.
• Maintain substitute plans with class rosters and behavior plans.
• Embed literacy, mathematics practices, and science process skills into lessons.
• Use ongoing assessments to guide instruction and provide timely feedback.
• Integrate technology into instruction.
