Job summary

Juneau School District is seeking a Self-Contained Special Education Paraeducator at Mendenhall River Community School to support students in BEST, DEC-C, DEC, and Transitions programs. The role involves presenting material, working individually or in small groups, and recording progress data.

Required include a High School Diploma, with preference for some school-age experience; CPR/first aid may be required; AA degree or 48 semester hours or WorkKeys; starting pay is $27.40 per hour for 35

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or higher is required or preferred.
• CPR, first aid, and behavior management techniques may be required (calm, de-escalation, crisis handling).
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional assistance in assigned areas (reading, writing, math, computers, vocational ed).
• Record grades and collect data on student progress or behavior.
• Work with students individually or in small groups within specialized programs.
