Job summary

Juneau School District is seeking a Special Education Paraeducator to work at Sayeik Gastineau Community School. The position is a permanent full-time 9 month role (0.9333 FTE) supporting students in special education, presenting material and activities to build reading, writing, math, and related skills.

This role works individually or in small groups and records progress. Starting at $26.37 per hour plus a benefits package including medical, dental, vision, PERS and paid time off.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; basic classroom support experience preferred.
• CPR/First Aid may be required; ability to manage stressful situations.
• Valid Alaska driver's license required; willingness to pass WorkKeys if needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional assistance to students in assigned areas, primarily special education.
• Record grades and progress, communicate with staff and parents.

Skills

Education

AA degree or 48 semester hours
