Job summary

La Joya Independent School District is seeking a Special Education Instructional Assistant: SE INC/RES/CM at an assigned campus in La Joya, TX. The role supports classroom instruction and supervision of special needs students under the guidance of the principal and the Special Education Executive Director.

Responsibilities include direct instructional support, progress monitoring, and implementing plans while maintaining confidentiality.

Qualifications

Requires high school diploma or GED and 48 college hours or 2 years postsecondary education.
Para-Professional Certificate required upon hire.
Some experience working with children preferred.

Responsibilities

Works cooperatively with teachers and other assistants as members of the “teaching team.”
Provides direct instructional support to students and monitors progress and behavior per IEP.
Implements modifications and adaptations to the environment or materials as directed by teachers.
Participates in daily planning sessions with teacher(s).
Reinforces concepts/skills introduced by teachers and provides feedback.
Works with small groups or individuals on identified needs and assists with classroom routines.
Assists staff in managing student behavior using approved de-escalation and CPI training.
Maintains confidentiality of student information and related records.
Follow all Work from Home Protocols when working remotely.
