Job summary

Sylvania in Temple, TX seeks a dedicated Special Education Teacher to provide learning activities and experiences for students with diverse needs. Responsible for developing IEPs, preparing lessons, and coordinating with parents and staff to support each student’s growth.

The role requires a Texas SPED endorsement, collaboration across instructional settings, and adherence to district and TEA guidelines. On-site position with active classroom leadership and student-centered approach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required, with Texas teaching certificate and SPED endorsement.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret educational periodicals, journals, procedures, or regulations.
• Strong planning, organization, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan curriculum and prepare IEPs and instructional materials.
• Confer with parents and staff to develop individual educational programs.
• Instruct students in all academic subjects as specified by IEP.
• Maintain records and compliance with IEPs, ARD meetings, and TEA guidelines.
• Use diverse instructional techniques and assistive technology to support student learning.
• Collaborate with medical staff for rehabilitation programs when needed.
