Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology required.
  • Valid license from the Virginia Board of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology or eligibility to obtain one.
  • ASHA Certification or Candidate for ASHA Certification.
  • CFY supervision is available.
  • Valid Virginia Department of Education Teaching License is NOT required for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Identify students with communication disabilities and participate in MTSS.
  • Conduct comprehensive speech-language assessments and prepare evaluation reports.
  • Develop IEP goals and accommodations for speech-language impairment.
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions and adapt curricula/therapy content.
  • Instruct students/teachers in communication technologies (FM systems, hearing aids, AAC tools).
  • Maintain records and prepare periodic reports; ensure confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with families and school personnel for service planning and coordination.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and stay current with best practices.
